Thanksgiving side dish.. fruit salad ideas?

Besides making my own dinner, i am attending my mom's diner this weekend. She asked me to bring a salad. A lettuce based one, I asked? no. A pasta salad? no. A fruit with mini marshmellows or ambrosia salad? no.. thats like a desert she said.

So she would like something.. maybe with apples and cranberries..

and thats all I got for ideas. LOL. Anyone have a salad, with fruit, that is a nice side dish, but not too sweet.. and yet, not lettuce based?
I know, im asking a lot.. I did some searching on allrecipes.. and after page 5, gave up and decided to just ask here instead.

To your apples and cranberries, add fresh mint leaves and toasted pecans and make an orange juice-poppy seed dressing for it. No added sugar!
