According to the following article, from 2007, Guinness Marmite was a limited edition of Marmite. Marmite is yeast extract and salt. Guinness yeast extract made up 30% of Guinness Marmite. I 'spect it was pretty good.

I'm curious about Marmite. It's the Guinness connection that makes me skeptical. Is Marmite bitter like Guinness?

Marmite is apparently made from the fermentation waste product of the Guinness production. Itdoesn't have any Guinness in it.

As for taste - I like guinness but not marmite.

yes, but only in the way that too much yeast makes bread bitter. There's no actual Guinness in it. The advertising company with teh Marmite account was just getting on the bandwagon with a labelling gimic.

Marmite, as I've said, is made from the yeast waste produced in the Guinness manufacturing process and has no Guinness in it
