Home again in Ohio!
So what if it's National Coq au Vin Day? It's also Tuesday, and we're having tacos, darn it! I pulled some barbacoa from the freezer to defrost. Sides will be rice, and black beans.

It's also National Biscuit Day. I'm considering pulling my bag of WhiteLily self-rising flour out of it's safe place and using two cups to make shortcake biscuits to pair with strawberries. I do have buttermilk...

What's "coq"ing at your house?

DH wants burgers and corn again [emoji38] so he's gone to the store for ingredients. I'm still exhausted from the 13-hour drive yesterday; I told him if he wants to cook, fine. Otherwise, we'll just order pizza.

Corn, bacon, gruyere cheese souffle with a spinach salad wirh steamed baby potatoes dressed with a hot bacon, sliced red onion, balsamic dressing.

in Columbus OH again. Got to the Residence Inn late, so I took part in their meal. Teriyaki chicken with Asian slaw and most important free wine :)

in Columbus OH again...
Free wine would definitely appeal to me, GA, but did you get a chance to try Schmidt's Sausage Haus last time? If not, consider this to be your reminder. ;)

I wasn't in the mood for beans much, so I heated some for Himself (with AZ dreaming and a pinch of Epazote), put some away for salads later this week, and tossed the rest into the leftover corn-and-tomato salad. Shiner Bock for Himself, Fat Tire for me - happy tummies. :yum:

Note: Supper done, kitchen counter cleaned up, dishwasher now running. :ermm: Who IS this person?

I missed lunch today, so I hit the diner. I was hoping they had a soup I liked, otherwise I would have a patty melt. They had Ham and Bean soup! Big bowl and I am satisfied.

I love coq au vin, and make it a lot -- but during the winter months.

But tonight, like others have done, I had Memorial Day leftovers -- BBQ and tater salad.
