Recently, I tried the honey seared chicken at Pei Wei Diner. Does anyone have any idea how they prepare that? I've made two attempts, and although I didn't kill anyone in my family and some of us even ate it, my stuff didn't even come close to the dish I got at Pei Wei.
The first try, I make a thin batter as if I were deep-frying onion rings, only adding plenty of honey to the batter. No comparison.
The second time, tonight, I coated the chicken pieces with cornstarch and then honey. This tasted okay, but looked pretty bad and still is not like what they serve at Pei Wei.
So, if anyone has a clue, please let me know.
Thanks!
