Oh, this came out good. It's hearty with that great collagen feel, and rich, tasty, and tender pork meat. It's got the healthy grains, pearl barley, and brown rice, along with... Well, here's the recipe.
Ingredients:
3 fresh pork hocks, lean
2 medium onions, sliced
2 carrots, peeled and rustic slice
1/4 cup pearl barley
1/4 cup brown rice
Salt & pepper to taste
1/4 cup of your favorite barbecue sauce
Place the hocks into your slow cooker, or pressure cooker. Cook overnight in slow cooker, or for 45 minutes in your PC. Add the remaining ingredients and cook until the veggies are tender. I did mine in the PC for an additional 15 minutes. Cooked cooked as required for the cooking method you use.
The soup was great without the bbq sauce. With it, it is better.
