I like to make chocolate covered pretzels with white chocolate and then these Chocolate Peanut Pretzels as gifts each Christmas. You may also want to buy two bags of pretzels. There are always a lot of broken pretzels in a bag.
Enjoy! Debbie
Chocolate Peanut Butterscotch Pretzels
DIP
1 bag(s) (11 ounces) BUTTERSCOTCH CHIPS
1/3 cup(s) PEANUT BUTTER; Creamy.
CRISCO; Enough To Make Dipping Easy.
1 bag(s) (15 ounce) PRETZEL TWISTS
DRIZZLE
1 cup(s) CHOCOLATE CHIPS
3 teaspoon(s) CRISCO; Or As Needed.
_____
Microwave butterscotch chips and peanut butter in a microwave-safe bowl on medium-high power for 1 minute; stir.
Microwave at additional 10 to 20 second intervals, stirring until smooth adding a little Crisco until spreadable.
Dip pretzels or spoon butterscotch mixture over 1/2 of one pretzel, covering both sides.
Tap pretzel against bowl or pan to remove excess.
Place pretzel on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper.
Repeat with remaining pretzels.
If mixture thickens, microwave again until smooth.
Place pretzels in refrigerator or a cool place until set.
When set, melt chocolate chips and Crisco together and drizzle over pretzels using a spoon.
Place back in refrigerator or cool place to harden.
Store in airtight containers or resealable plastic bag.
*You can melt the chips in the microwave but I prefer the double boiler so I can control the temperature better.
