Can you tell me a ghost story?
Can you tell me a ghost story?
I used to work at the local hospital as a CNA. I worked both long term care and med/surg. One night as I walked up to the elevator on med/surg the button to call the elevator lit up. The arrows would light up if someone was using the elevator but the button only lit up if you pushed it. I shrugged it off though and used the elevator when it opened. Later that same evening when I went to go home the same thing happened. One of the nurses was with me and she noticed it also. She asked if I'd pushed the button and she just didn't see it. I told her no and that the same thing had happened earlier. I figured it was probably just a short or something and told her that. She let maintenance know and they said they'd check it out.
The next night the same thing happened and I got the feeling I should say thank you. So I did. I mentioned it to other nurses and they all said that never happened to them. One of the nurses that had worked there a long time said they used to have a long term resident that liked to push the elevator button for nurses and aides that he liked. Every time I used the elevator after that the light would come on by itself. I'd say thank you. It never happened to any of the other aides or any of the nurses unless they were riding the elevator with me. I worked there for three and a half years and when I left, I was the only one that had ever happened to. I was also the only one that had never gotten stuck in those elevators.
I have another less friendly ghost story, and a couple other more friendly ghost stories. If you'd like to hear them let me know.
Never mind, I won't start one. PF, you work fast!

I've never been sure if I have an active imagination or not, but some nights I am fitful because I wake up and feel a presence in either the house or the room. Just a week ago I woke up and felt someone was standing outside of our bedroom. I felt it was a man, peeking in, I saw his shadow and it was wispy but defined. It was really disturbing and I was terrified. When I feel things like this, I have to touch my hubby, even just my hand on his arm or shoulder, and I feel that the physical contact helps separate me from whoever, or whatever, is watching. I've felt this most of my life, not just in one home.
Can anyone explain, or would it be an overactive dream state?
Just to note.. I have read up on sleep paralysis.. I am able to move when I wake up feeling this. I have had these feelings since I was a child.
