My grandmother from Romania used to make them, and they were heavenly!
Wish I had her recipe.

Here's a variation someone sent me...
Rugelach/Kolachki
> Dough:
> 1/2 lb butter, softened
> 8 oz cream cheese, softened
> 2 c all-purpose flour

> Cream butter and cream cheese together then beat in flour a little at a
> time. Knead dough lightly, if necessary, to incorporate all flour.
> Divide dough into 4 portions, wrap in wax paper and refrigerate for at
> least one hour (or up to a week).

> When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350. Roll out dough into a circle
> about 1/16 inch thick. Cut the dough into 16 pie shaped wedges, if
> sticky, dust with a little flour. Spread each wedge with filling of
