Easy Beef Stroganoff

8 oz. (4 1/2 c) uncooked wide egg noodles
1 pound ground beef
1/2 c finely chopped onion
2 T flour
1/2 c water
4 oz. can mushrooms pieces and stems, undrained
1/2 t salt
1/4 t pepper
1 c sour cream

Cook noodles to desired doneness as directed on package. Drain.

Meanwhile, in a large skillet brown ground beef and onion; drain. Stir in flour. Add water, mushrooms, salt, and pepper. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens. Reduce heat; stir in sour cream. Serve sauce over cooked noodles.
