Although you can cook tofu in many ways and use it as an ingredient I like tofu as a side dish, served cold, topped with chopped green onions and grated ginger. And a little soy sauce over that.
I have both fried it and grilled it (on perforated aluminum foil). Just don't treat it too rough... be gentle but if you use firm tofu, it will hold together. Use a sauce of your choice.
