Sincerey though, playing nice is what I've been taught all my life. If I can brighten another's day, then my day is brighter too.

Yup, med, better to be too nice than too nasty.

sometimes "nastiness" is actually niceness and vice versa
We have a couple of names for that... one of them is 'sarcasm'

Not about politeness nor being nice--but I have learned so much from the members here. I think you people are polite to answer pretty basic questions, give thoughtful answers, and just generally be helpful.

When I’m on my bicycle I wear a T-shirt with POLITE printed in large bold letters on the back. Drivers become extra careful as they approach me from behind.
