Got this from my mother-in-law. It's kind of old, but I don't know what it is. It looks and smells lemony but it's like half the size of a normal lemon. Any help?

Without actually being able to handle it - for the most part, if it looks like a lemon and smells like a lemon, if you scratch the rind and it taste like a lemon rind and still smells like one...

I would say it is a lemon.
IMHO :)

It has been my experience that lemons can vary in size. From the tiny, usually seedless, lemons, to those that compare to the size of a grapefruit. Friends of mine had a house, way back when, with a lemon tree in the front yard. Folks would steal them, thinking they are grapefruit, so my friends put a sign on the tree proclaiming, "I am a lemon tree" or something like that.
