Luvs, here is my Grandma's recipe for chocolate chip cookies that you could use. It is the pudding that makes them chewy.
Grandma’s Chocolate Chip Cookies
2 ¼ cups flour, unsifted
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup butter
¼ cup sugar
¾ cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 package (4 oz.) vanilla instant pudding and pie filling
2 eggs
1 ½ - 2 cups chocolate chips
1 cup walnuts, chopped (optional)
Mix flour with baking soda. Combine butter, sugar, brown sugar, pudding (dry), and vanilla in large mixing bowl. Beat mixture until smooth and creamy. Beat in eggs. Gradually add flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts. Batter will be stiff. Chill for 1 hour. Drop by teaspoonfuls, about 2 inches apart, on to greased baking sheet. Bake at 375º F. for 8 to 10 minutes. For chocolate chocolate chip cookies use a chocolate flavored pudding.
