I dont understand this whole kosher thing. Why cant ya mix things? It doesnt seem logical.

When kosher rules were written in the Torah (you probably know as Old Testament) it says 'do not cook a kid in its mother's milk' and the Rabbi's interpreted that to mean do not eat at same meal. Also, 1000;s of years ago with the pottery being so pourous, the milk would curddel (sp) when put in the same bowl. Modern day Rabbi's, so as not to confuse things, say not to mix poultry and dairy, but Reform movement does not follow either, only Conservative and orthodox.
