I just made it and it looks so pretty and tastes so yummy i thought i should share the recipe with you guys!here it goes...
CAKE:
1) 7 eggs,separated.
2) 1 c sugar.
3) 1 c flour.
4) 1 ounce melted butter.
Preheat oven to 350f.Separate egg yolks and whites.Add half the sugar to each bowl and beat both until stiff peaks form.Then fold the whites into the yolk mixture.Gradually add flour,mixing with a wooden spatula.Mix in the butter.Divide the mixture and pour in 2 greased cake pans.bake 20 to 30 minutes or until spongy and golden.Remove from oven and allow to cool.
FILLING AND FROSTING:
1) 2 egg yolks.
2) 1 c powdered sugar.
3) 1 c water.
4) juice of 1 lemon.
5) 2 tbsp flour.
cook over low heat,stirring constantly until begins to thicken,when of right consistency to spread on the cake,remove from heat and fill and frost the cake.Sprinkle lots of flaked coconut on top and sides of the cake and garnish with canned cherries at the end to give some nice red color.
