Just thought I would share a tip.
Simply go to your local landscape contractor and ask if they would part with some of their black plastic pots.
I can almost garantee they will beg you to take them all. They tend to stack up quickly and they take up valuble space. Yes they can recycle them but they never have the time.
Take a few 1 gal pts for germinating or transplanting seedlings.
Grab some 5 to 10 gal for smaller plants
Get the big 15 and 20 gallon pots for your tomatos and other big plants.
Another tip: Landscapers tend to be out during the day. Call in the am before 7:00 and just ask if they have any. They will likely tell you where they stack them and tell you to help yourself.
