In our little town, the main street is lined with American Flags today.
All of them are on loan from folks `round these parts.

I had spent a good part of the day getting up the Fall Leaves in both the front and back yards and was pooped!

I always get out of the clothes that I've been wearing when I do yard-duty, mostly because I'm covered from head to toe in debris. And then jump into the shower for a good washup!

As I got out of the shower, my tummy reminded me that we had a very small breakfast and going out to linner would be an excellent idea!

Mom ordered Shrimp Won Ton Soup and Egg Rolls

DH had his usual of 2 Salmon and 1 Cucumber Maki Sushi Lunch Special, which includes your choice of Miso Soup or Salad (he went with the Soup); DH also ordered (not pictured) Edamame and Pork Dumplings :yum: I helped him with those :)

I tried something different: Teriyaki Shrimp Bento Lunch Box with an upsell to Lo Mein over the included steamed White Rice. Also included with the Bento is a small bowl of Miso Soup and a Green Salad with Japanese-Style Dressing (I make my own at home with this recipe).

Mom and I each have leftovers, DH, well, he devoured his food

When we got home, it was just in time for Coffee Hour.
Once DH finished his first cup, he asked:
Are we having dinner?
In unison Mom and I both bellowed:
NO!
:ROFLMAO:

I'm sure that there will be Ice Cream Sundaes later ;)

What's going on your table?

Tonights dinner was a Near Eastern flavored meatloaf, baked potatoes and steamed broccoli.

Har Gow Dim Sum (Steamed shrimp dumplings)

I'm not going to lie. This was a lot of work for me. I was originally going to use wonton
skins to make my Har Gow, but the grocery stores were out. I had to make my own dumpling skins. Now these aren't as pretty , with the uniform folds, and elegant shape. The texture came out great, and the filling is righteous.

The skin recipe is super easy.
Ingredients:
2 cups flour
1/4 cup boiling water
Mix water with flour and knead until the dough comes together. Form a ball and dived into eight pieces. Roll out each section into a 1 inch tube, then cut into 1/2 inch rounds. P;ace in a lightly greased bowl, and cover with plastic wrap. Let rest for 45 minutes.

Filling:
1/2 cup finely mince ten scallops,
12 raw, shelled shrimp, finely minced
5 oz. can of water chestnuts chopped into a into a fine dice.
3/tbs. minced green onion
2 cloves garlic. minced
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
1 tbs. sugar
1 tbs. corn starch
2 tbs. lite soy sauce
Combine ingredients into a mixing bowl, and stir to evenly combine.

Take each dough ball and roll into a ball. Flatten on a floured work surface, and roll into a thin, 2 1/2 inch round. Wet edges of the dough disk. Place a tbs. of filling onto the middle of the dough disk. Fold in half, capturing the filling inside. Pinch edges together. Repeat until all dough is used up. Place in parchment lined steamer, with holes poked into the parchment paper to let the steam through. Bring water in the bottom of the steamer pan to a rapid boil. Put the steamer insert, filled with dumplings onto the steamer pot. Cover and steam for 6 minutes. serve with simple chili oil dipping sauce, or Hoisin Sauce, and steamed rice.

I made a country omelette with feta and scallions. We had whole grain wheat miche (rustic round loaf) toast with butter and some salad.

It took me a while (frequent rest stops) but, we ended up with a chunky chicken noodle soup and cheater yeast rolls.

French vanilla pudding was dessert.

We had Taco Tuesday! Nothing fancy, ground beef tacos with homegrown lettuce, store bought tomatoes, salsa, shredded cheddar...and rice cooker Mexican Rice. Hit the spot...

Ooh!
DH was just whining that I haven't made any Dinner Rolls ...
I'm going to look for those the next time I go to our local Kroger's aka Fry's Food.
Thanks Ross!

I'm not sure that Kroger stores carry them...but Walmart does. If you have a Walmart nearby? There are a number of them...https://sisterschuberts.com/products/?msclkid=eb15059ffe89157250c4642ed5828564&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Brand&utm_term=sister%20schubert%27s%20rolls&utm_content=Brand%3A%20Dinner%20Roll%20-%20Exact&gclid=eb15059ffe89157250c4642ed5828564&gclsrc=3p.ds

Ginny, when I Googled it, it came up at both Walmart and Fry's Food here in Cowboyville. I try not to give Walmart all of my business ;)
