Love doing clams this way and the mussels are just as good. Threw some leg quarters on for my wife, she's not a fish person.
Basting Mixture included and I do not normally measure....about 1/2 stick of butter, little EVOO, oregano, LOTS of garlic, shallots, red pepper flakes, black pepper and a splash or two of diet sierra mist soda. Yeah, yeah, sounds funky, but I didn't have any white wine and the mixture needed some acid and the soda worked fine!
I got soft shell clams this time, vs. the normal little necks.
And some Maine mussels.
All shucked and ready for the grill.
First things first....
Chicken had been on for about 45 minutes.
Roughly 5 minutes later or (1 beer), they were done and ready to consume.
