I had overbought some orzo and wanted to pare it down a bit so I created an orzo and chicken skillet.
I sous vide a couple of chicken breasts, sautéed some onions, mushrooms and garlic, added tomato and wine to deglaze. Then added the orzo, chicken broth, Italian seasoning and some heavy cream. While that cooked, I shredded the chicken. When the orzo was done and the sauce had thickened a bit I added the chicken, turned off the heat and stirred in some sharp cheddar.
I went to the trouble of cooking the chicken SV because SO prefers shredded chicken to cut up pieces. SV isn't necessary, you could easily sauté cubed chicken for the recipe.
