Does "Search" work when looking for Bacon and Spit Pea Soup?

I am close to eighty years of age and can still remember the Bacon and Split Pea Soup my Grandmother and Mother used to make. I asked my sister for the recipe but it was not a success.
I soaked the yellow split peas for 24 hours but after cooking tem for quite a few hours they didn't break up and dissolve as they used to in my Grandmothers or Mothers creation.

I keyed "Pea Soup" and "Bacon and split pea soup" into the search box in this forum but got nowhere but recognise that I may have got it wrong so could anyone give me a hint as to how to use it.

You can make some tasty bacon and pea soups but may not be completely successful in duplicating what your mom and grandmother made.

You really don't need to soak lentils before cooking and they cook fairly quickly. If you ant a creamy soup, I recommend pureeing the soup using a blender or stick blender.
