I belong to an organization called 'Virginia Float Fisherman', it's basically a bunch of people who like to canoe and fish and while we do that we try to clean up the rivers, etc. Anyways, we have a 'Head Suckin' every year in April which we camp out for the weekend, grill and have a good time. Then Saturday Mud Bugs are FedEx'd in straight from Louisiana and cooked up along with corn on the cob, potatoes, peppers, onions, etc. There's kegs of beer and Blue Grass music too. It's overall a fantastic weekend every year, but the weather this year made it even better!
Friday Night we had Italian sausages and chicken wings. Wings were marinated in Italian Dressing and Wolfe Rub Citrus for 24 hours along with a little extra douse of cayenne pepper and garlic.
Saturday Afternoon the mud bugs are here and my daughter 'Cathryn' helped add the salt to purge them.
Later Saturday after we feasted on the bugs we had sirloin rubbed with Wolfe Rub Bold, asparagus, red bell pepper and new potatoes that had marinated in Zesty Italian dressing for most of the day. We also had a couple skewers of shrimp my older daughter and boyfriend brought to share.
ME being me.... after 2 days without a shower I was not allowed in the front of the truck..
And then there was the band and people dancing.
