Does anyone know if someone makes a Home Immersion circulator(cooking grade). The PolyScience ones run about a grand, way to much for my budget. I would be willing to try and make one if someone has any idea how.
I'm not sure if you're still looking but I really want this one. It's as accurate as the PolyScience (perhaps more so) but smaller. It's also a lot cheaper- the introductory price is $400! Heston Blumenthal of The Fat Duck has been flogging it pretty hard lately. It's due out later this month.
I looked at the $ 399 sous vide supreme and I didn't see any mention of being a circulator. Try finding a used/refurbished immersion heater/circulator at a labratory supply firm . $200 to $ 1000 depending on volume sensitivity and digital vs analog. Some shut off for low water . The unit can be used in varios containers that you may already have.
