The key to getting people involved in a comp is publicity. Most of your backyard cooks won't enter a big contest....try to get those who do
"the circuit"

These are folks who will travel and compete with the best bbq you'll ever eat. This forum is a good place to come for advice and to spread the word. Some of the best minds in the bbq world visit here daily.

Hi all! This is Jim Minion, I'm over at Larry's again using his computer mines broke! He's teaching me a thing or two about making good Q!! Competitions in Oregon sound fine to me, bring it! Man, Larry can cook better than anyone I know! BTW, welcome to the board! I gotta go, Larry said dinner is ready!!
