I am going to make some more of that NY Strip with peppers, mushrooms, onion and cheese mixture for sandwiches, but that won't be until later (we don't eat until around 10 pm).

I am super excited that I finally got hubby to bake the coating off his electric grill that I bought him for his birthday back in April and I bought him a small pork butt and some jumbo chicken wings to smoke in it tomorrow. Last day of decently warm weather tomorrow, so good day to do it. Tonight I will be trimming the useless inedible piece off the wings and doing a rub on both the butt and the wings to sit overnight. I hope hubby decides he LOVES smoking food! That will be so exciting for me to have him cook more often!
 
Took Mom out today, first to get "beauty-fied" is what I call taking her to the salon for a wash & style. Second, I had promised her that we'd go greeting card shopping at the local Dollar Tree, she picked up a few other things too.
Lastly, I took to Linner (late lunch/early dinner) at our favorite Asian Bistro.

I ordered Japanese Bento Box lunch - Teriyaki Shrimp. Not pictured is Miso Soup and a Salad, included. I always ask to up-sell to Lo Mein. I have enough leftovers for probably two meals for moi. This all cost about $15, not bad, eh?
 
Beet greens and veggie brown basmati rice ( I really like it and probably have it too often, it's my go-to). Oat-fruit-raisin 'cookies' w/cardamom.
(we had dr praeger plant based burgers for lunch w/tomato, lettuce, pickles, mustard, ketchup on toasted WW. We usually don't do bought plant based burgers but we wanted to try this brand and they only have 7 grams of fat in each burger which was reasonable for us.)
 
It is Taco Thursday here! I'm cooking up a simple ground beef for them and we'll have some homegrown lettuce on them too! We wanted something smaller, as we finished up the Chicken Enchiladas for lunch along with some rice cooker Spanish rice. DH is getting an appetite back, and that's a good sign!
 
About 7 years ago I made - with great success - some sushi rolls. A week or so later I made them again - complete fail, LOL tasted good but rice was wrong and fell apart.

Yesterday, made again. Rice was right, dip was right, but have no idea where my brain was when rolling them. LOL another disaster, but at least a tasty one.

Last night I made a quick omelette, with some mushrooms and cheese. Earlier yesterday I made my last batch of that lentil salad I make frequently, with all those cherry tomatoes I harvested, plus some of those garlic chives, some cilantro, some feta, some almonds, and an aji dulce and red savina of each. There are still a few cherries, and a bunch of peppers, but the cold will soon be here.
 
I was quite busy this week, so I am posting my restaurant outing from this week in this thread. It was amazing! I'm currently diving into Chinese cuisine, which is not something I have done before. Having Indonesian roots myself doesn't mean I'm automatically familiar with all Asian cuisine of course. And wow, I am having a blast discovering Chinese food! It's amazing. I was treated to a Dim Sum lunch by my friend as a belated birthday present. We're going back to this restaurant to celebrate our marriage anniversary because it was so good! (our five year anniversary is on november 13th).

We also had prawn dumplings, pork bao and fried bread but we forgot to take pictures because we were talking so much. It was a day to remember!
