Broccoli & Cauliflower Salad

This recipe is from a good friend. He passed away. He was a great friend and a great cook. I love this salad!

Broccoli Cauliflower Salad:

5 Cups Chopped Fine Broccoli

5 Cups Chopped Fine Cauliflower

2 Cups Cheddar Cheese, Cut In Cubes Or Shredded

2/3 Cup Chopped Fine Onions

1/2 Cup Sunflower Seeds

6 Strips Bacon, Fried Crisp


1 Cup Mayonnaise

1/2 Cup Sugar

2 T. Vinegar

Put all salad ingredients in a large bowl: reserve a little bacon and sunflower seeds.

Pour dressing over and mix together well.

Put reserved bacon and sunflower seeds on top.

Cover bowl; refrigerate.
I've done a salad very similar to these, many moons ago. Sunflower seeds is a nice touch. I'll have to revive this recipe!

Just for my taste, I'd probably roast the brocolli and cauliflower and onions. I prefer them cooked over raw. Then chop and proceed. Might need to increase amounts some to account for the volume lost to roasting. Otherwise looks good.
