225 grams wholemeal flour
225 grams plain white flour
100 grams porridge oats
2 tsp bicarbonate soda
450 mls buttermilk
1 egg
1 tbsp oil
1 tbsp treacle.
Mix all the wet ingredients together in a jug, sift all the dry(except oats) into a bowl, mix in the oats, add the liquid and mix quickly ( the mix should be quite wet) spoon into oiled 2lbs loaf tin and bake at 200c for about 1 hr. Wrap in a tea towel to stop the loaf drying.
