What do I need to do have my cookies look like the big cookies you buy from coffee houses or restaurants (think Starbucks). Those cookies always look really nice and flat and uniform. The cookies at home always taste good but are not perfectly flat, but bumpy and not as thin, but if I'm giving them as a gift, I would love for them to look like the ones at the coffee house. I also like the consistency, even though those cookies are thin, they are still soft and kind of chewy not hard and crisp/crunchy.
Any ideas? Is it the recipe or just a technique of dropping or forming the cookies that I don't know about.
