I was going to make some Greek Chicken Kabobs and when I went to the fridge to get the Yogurt it turned out to be Cottage Cheese. (for my marinade)
I grabbed my little food processor and pureed the Cottage Cheese with a tiny bit of milk and the results were great.It has a nice tangy flavor and is as stiff as yogurt or sour cream without being grainy.
I think it would substitute in a dip just fine and be healthier too.
