I am making meatballs with leftover mix from stuffed grape leaves. The filling has rice in it. I will make tzatziki to go with it and will also have naan. Need suggestions for a side dish, please..
Couscous. Made some Greek meatballs (lamb) a week or so ago it was a side. Bought a boneless leg and ground it. Have some ground left, which we might try making shawarma on the rotisserie.
I don't want to make a rice dish since there is rice in the meatball mix, and I will have naan on the side. maybe I'll just make a tomto salad with blue cheese or feta. any other suggestions??
Tomato-cucumber-onion-green pepper-feta cheese salad.

Braised green beans: saute half a chopped onion and a clove of garlic in olive oil. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. Add a can of diced tomatoes and a teaspoon of crushed dried oregano and cook for five minutes. Add two cups of fresh or frozen green beans and cook till tender.

My first thought for a side to your lovely sounding dish
is a salad of baby arugula, some shaved cheese, nuts,
kalamata olives and a beautiful Greek inspired vinaigrette dressing.
I feel that a salad with a bite to it would compliment that lamb
as well as the tzatziki. :yum:
what time did you say dinner was? ;)
No rice, there is already rice in it.
I'd go for a Greek salad as the vinegar will counterpoint the fats in the meat.
