I consider myself a reasonably intelligent person. By way of education, business experience and general life experience, I've accumulated a decent vocabulary. There are times when I have to look up a word, but never before have I had to look up a word in a nursery rhyme!
I was reading a book of nursery rhymes to my grandson and he selected "The Owl and the Pu$$ycat". Near the end, there is a couplet that reads:
"They dined on mince and slices of quince,
Which they ate with a runcible spoon;"
Please tell me I'm not the only one who didn't know what a runcible spoon is.
BTW, the spell checker doesn't know the word either.
