TRUTH !!
The Barkley Marathons are held in Tennessee every year. The goal is to
complete 100 miles within a sixty-hour time period. The course is not marked
and consists of five twenty mile loops. Runners must alternate directions
for each loop. There are no aid stations except for two points along the
course where there is water. Runners need to navigate really difficult
terrain and find specific pages of books that are hidden along the way.
After each twenty mile loop, they are to touch a yellow park gate and show
their specific page as proof that they completed the loop properly. The run
is limited to forty runners, there is no online registration and the fee to
enter is $1.60 plus an essay on why you should be allowed to run.
