Warming up slices Quiche Lorraine I made for breakfast this morning. Green salad on the side with red wine vinaigrette. Apple crisp with vanilla ice cream for laters. SO said she wants few/ if any leftovers in the frig between now and Turkey day. I said does that include ice cream, in which case I need a bigger bowl.
Looks like shrimp was very popular yesterday! Here is my version.
Shrimp, okra and andouille gumbo. Okra based gumbo has homemade andouille and the shrimp were added in the last 5 minutes of cooking. There is a tiny bit of leftover gumbo, but the shrimp are all gone.
I made boeuf bourguignon, mashed potatoes and French bread for dinner last night. I used a recipe from Serious Eats that called for a tablespoon each of fish sauce and soy sauce in the braising liquid. It was delicious
