My mom always made potato soup using a sort of hand-operated food processor. It looks like the love child of a saucepan and a colander, provided one of those was fathered by a coffee grinder. It has holes on the bottom, and clips that allow it to sit on top of a bowl. There is a hand grinder that smushes the food through the holes making a smooth, but not completely blended soupy mix.

I love this thing. I've found that my potato soup/other creamy blended things taste very different when I use an electric processor or blender, and I really prefer the hand operated model.

Any idea what this thing is actually called and where I can find one? I tried googling it, but no such luck. I guess "food squisher" is not its name.
