we keep ours out in the garage. Lately it's been cold and rainy and I wonder if this is maybe making them go bad faster? What is the best way to store them? Thx.

in a dry place away from other vegetables is the best way I've found. I use only sweet onions so I sometimes put them in the fridge if I've bought too many.

I have found that the produce bin in the refrigerator is the best place -- cool and dry.

We have grown our own onions for home most of my life. I always put them up in old pantyhose. Drop 1 in and tie a not, repete until full. Works great for garlic too.

Yes, temps below freezing will cause them to go bad and too much moisture will cause rust (black powdery stuff). Put them in the house for a few days to a week to help them dry out.

Mine are in a mesh bag in the garage. They seem to keep for a pretty long time.
