Official Definition: Warming Drawer
The drawer under the oven where you keep half sheet pans, racks and roasting pans.

You could be right? I hope not....

I do keep extra things down below in my "warming drawer". All my other ovens which had drawers below would naturally get warm with the use of the oven and I would put plates or filled dishes waiting to go on the table in there.

This stove actually has a setting to turn on as it doesn't seem to get warm on its own. Go figure that one out! Took me a while to realize my plates weren't all that warm and I still don't remember to turn it on when I want it. LOL

I hope your right about this drawer actually having its own control. We have never used or considered the drawer on the existing range as a warming drawer. But I can see how it could be used as one.
All my wife's metal baking pans are down there and so are my metal roasting pans.
I hope we have to move them....lol

Mine works the same way. It would be a waste of energy if it was on all the time, eh? ;)

RB, imagine on Thanksgiving, you might have some dishes that are ready to eat and you want to keep them warm. That's what a warming drawer is for. I mostly use mine for storage.

Thanks. Yes, I can see a major benefit especially during the holidays.

It means your oven is well-insulated.

Update:
My new range finally arrived yesterday and it was damaged.
I did not notice until the delivery people left.
The propane conversion kit was also missing.

Called Lowes to report it and they took my info and someone is to call me.
Over a month waiting and its damaged.
I have had bad luck with internet orders lately. I mean the shipping. I had to return a fridge and just last week I had to return a weed eater.

I think it could be a blessing in disguise?
I have been looking at "slide in" range models and kinda wished I had taken that direction before the new range arrived.
So now I get the second chance at maybe considering a slide in model.
I did buy a stainless backsplash to go behind the range.

Anyone have a slide in range?

Sorry to hear that, RB. I'm wondering - wasn't your range a "slide-in"? I thought almost all home ranges were slide-ins of some sort. What's different from the one you ordered?

I also don't understand quite what you mean.
to me:-
A free-standing stove/oven/range is actually slid-in between a space on the counter, ergo also known as a "slide-in"

A Counter-top is a set of burners without an oven below it. It is dropped in the counter much like a sink would be.

Counter-tops are usually accompanied by Wall Ovens, which can be placed somewehre else convenient.

I don't know of any other kind of stoves?

A slide in usually has a small lip to cover the adjacent counter top (no crud falls in crack on sides). Often the controls are on the front and there is no raised back panel. You can maintain a clean line across the back wall.

I had a slide in a few years back - I loved the way it looked and how easy it was to clean. As I recall There was a premium price for this. Mine was a jennaire smooth top electric. Love the look - hated the range. The glass top cracked twice.

Pic of old jennaire:

My current range is a thermadore (propane) and it looks like a slide in (no raised control panel on back) but the cook top doesn't' extend over the counter edges.

I adore this range!

here's a pic - grout work was in progress when this was taken and the range is pulled out a few inches during grout work (sticking out further into room than it should normally).

Not having the raised control panel in the back makes cleaner look - I also don't like reach over pots to turn knobs - they're often hot, steaming or splattering. That said - having controls in rear is a safety concern for little kids (not an issue at my house)

That answered my question, Janet! I would have thought that yours was a slide-in, too, and just about every other range out there. It seems that they would have put those lips on all the ranges way back, for that purpose, though they'd have to have some way of adjusting the height of the range, to get it over the countertop.

Janet, both the ranges you showed look like slide-ins. Neither one has a back panel. I also have a slide-in but with a back panel and knobs in front. I've never had a range with a lip to cover the side gaps-that would be nice.

The only option to a slide-in is a drop-in stove top with a separate oven, right?

OOOPS! Just thought I'd do some reading and discovered there is a difference between a slide-in and a freestanding range. My bad.

None of mine came with the lips - and believe me I've had a few stoves.

I have often inquired about them, they are available separately. At a price I was not willing to pay.

I just pull it out when deemed necessary for cleaning. Mine slides easily on the tile floor. Just have to be careful not to pinch the propane hose when pushing back in - but that also has never been a worry.

Actually I also just remembered, a slide-in stove is one that won't necessarily have finished sides. A free-standing stove has finished sides that could be at the end of a counter.

Thanks Dave. Slide in ranges have no back panel for the controls. The controls are on the front at an angle.
Also it looks like slide in ranges have more burner room? Not sure. But we are going shopping. Real shopping this time.
The fridge I had to return was ordered online and its been returned as well.
I am coming to the conclusion appliances are best purchased in person.

Cook top extend over the counter edges? Can you explain Janet?

The free standing range we are returning has pretty ugly sides. I would not have wanted it to actually be free standing.

So real in person shopping for us. I hate shopping! But it looks like shopping in person is the way to go.

Update

Well we had zero luck finding a range in stock that I wanted to buy.
So, we have a mom and pop appliance store in town. They have been in business for more than 50 years.

Discussed the situation with a salesman we later find out is the owner. We had him put together a list and a quote and I got it on Friday.
We picked out another range with a 4 week lead. Seems very common today.
I did go with the slide in range this time.
Frankly, I am pleased things worked out this way. Lots of headaches, but hopefully we get our new slide in range soon.

One really good reason to go with the small store is they do the Propane conversion. $100 and I do not have to be concerned about converting it myself.
I did have to pay a modest delivery charge of $45. Hopefully my next update is the successful delivery and set up.
Here is the one we bought.

that conversion and delivery charge sound good to me! Well done!

Like that oven... You're gonna be happy with it I'm sure.

You are aware that it is "easy clean" not "self clean". There is a difference.

Looks great, RB, and the delivery and conversion deals seem good. Hope the installation goes smoothly, and you get cooking as quickly as possible upon delivery.

She's a beauty, RB. Many happy years of cooking coming your way.

I had a dickens of a time trying to get a stove delivered from Lowe's in the Before Times. Gave up, cancelled the order, and ended up getting the same model from an area Mom-and-Pop store. No problems - it was worth the $40 difference.

Very nice! We also selected a LG range when we get our kitchen remodeled. (The remodel starts around November 9! I'm very excited.) I hope you share how you enjoy cooking on it!

Yes a big difference. But I rarely used the self clean function on my electric range. And yea. the price was right.

Nice range! I'm sure you'll love it.

Thanks Andy. I hope so.

Should be no problem. The gas line and valve are there for me to connect the flexible gas line too.
Yep. No worry about doing the propane conversion myself. And the shipping comes with an added benefit. They will see it first and if there is any problem, it becomes their problem, not mine like the last two deliveries were.

Actually the price was very close to everyone else. I saw higher prices and prices almost exactly the same.
So, it was no difference except the personalized care we will get this time.
Also calling LG is a nightmare. So bad I have a complaint with them right now.
The CSR hung up on me not once, but twice. I am a little surprised at myself for sticking with LG. At least it will match my fridge I just bought.

Thanks Kathleen. I hope you have better luck than I have had.
I have had to return one fridge and one range already. I am waiting now another 4 weeks and I waited 4 weeks for the first range that was damaged.
Be certain you check the delivery and if there is any issue, take care of it immediately.
I am very leery of appliance deliveries now. Another reason to have a local appliance store handle everything.
Good luck and enjoy that new kitchen. Yes an update will follow.

Actually, the range at the local store was $20 less than Lowe's (or anyone else's) price. The extra $40 was because I no longer got "free" delivery and had to pay for take-away. Still worth it.

I won't even go into my hatred for LG. "Life's Good"? More like "lousy garbage"...
