Did my first turkey today...Came out looking like hell, all black and whatnot, but was ok to eat. Not dry, not super juciey, but tender and had a nice flavor. I fought with my pit for the first few hours, and I think I got a blast of hot a few times. The breast was at 165 while the dark meat thigh area was only 130..But, I learned from it and the family ate it, so I guess it was ok.
